Classical OPC is known to work great on local machines. However, as soon as you cross machine boundaries, OPC can get hard to configure due all the configuration settings required to setup the DCOM/RPC Protocol. We always provided a free OPC Proxy Server to avoid this problem. The S4 Router shows up as an ordinary local OPC Server.
With 1.50 we significantly improved the performance of this Proxy Server. It is about 8 times faster than the previous version!
Moreover, by using the https protocol for tunneling the system, it is compliant to almost all IT environments. No more headaches using OPC remotely!
