S4 Inaugural Participation at Niagara Summit

Steve Jones, managing partner of the S4 Group, attended the Niagara Summit for the first time this year. Steve stated that S4 has seen a steady increase in the number of integration partners who see the value in pairing the S4 Open: BACNet-N2 Router with the Niagara platform for best of breed integrations, custom user interfaces, and high end applications.

As a developer of high end integration platforms, we have invested in an in-house test bed with almost every BACnet Operator Workstation, including Tridium, represented. This allows us to minimize risk to our integration partners using Tridium, just as we do for other BACnet OWS platforms. In addition, we are active participants in the more formal interoperability testing performed as part of BACnet International’s PlugFest.

We understand that the Niagara platform is no slouch when it comes to integration capabilities. However, there are some times when you simply need a dedicated platform to perform more complex integration tasks. Our S4 Open: BACnet-N2 Router performs a 3-way integration between N2 field devices, the Metasys® supervisory controller, and one or more BACnet IP-based BACnet OWS platforms, global controllers, and applications platforms.

I am very optimistic about the technical changes that Tridium is making, and encouraged by the fact that the Tridium integration community is embracing the S4 Open: BACnet-N2 router.
