So many shows, so little time. It’s a difficult decision to decide which building automation shows to attend. The S4 Group has its favorite shows that we try and attend each year, as well as trying out new ones.
The first show of the season is NFM&T in Las Vegas. This regional show is one of our favorites. The number of building automation vendors and attendees seems to grow every year. Being able to view new technology, keep abreast of new industry trends, say hello to old friends, and explore how we can work closer together is what we look for in a show.
Next on our list is AHR Show and Expo in Atlanta January 14-16. This is the biggest and most comprehensive show in the Building Automation Industry. Attendees come from far and wide to discuss industry trends, showcase new products, attend seminars and educational sessions, and bestow awards on the best and brightest industry professionals. This is a monster of a show. BACnet manufacturers will be there in full force. BACnet International will have a new booth for the show, staffed with knowledgeable volunteers from the various BAS manufacturers.
A new show for us is the Globalcon show March 20-21, 2019. Presented by the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the conference is designed to provide hands-on, up-to-the-minute information you can use right away to improve your energy management program, and get up to speed on the current generation of innovative technologies available to help you meet your goals. We are attending this show in support of BACnet International and Steve’s role as chair of the Marketing Committee. Stop by the BACnet Internal booth and learn more about the dominant protocol in the building automation industry.
Another regional favorite is the NFM&T show in Baltimore, MD, March 27-29. An all-time favorite of ours, this show has the same qualities as the one in Vegas, but covers a different region of the country. Many of the industry trends and education sessions provide information germane to the federal government. Steve will be presenting several educational sessions for BACnet International.
